Just got back from the annual NYC Halloween parade. I had never gone before, and it was definitely one of those experiences worth doing once, but probably not worth doing again. We waited for over an hour in crushing crowds before the parade actually got to where we were standing. Ironically, once the parade actually got to us, most of the people left. There were all sorts of people marching, dancing, and prancing up 6th Avenue. My favorite costumes were the Ghostbusters complete with a hearse painted up to look exactly like the car from the movie, all the people dressed up as iPods, the very authentic Stormtroopers, and of course, Frank the bunny from Donny Darko. There were also an inordinate amount of anti-Bush protesters. If there were any doubts as to how the city is voting on Tuesday, this parade erased them. I'd say a good 10% of the parade was anti-Bush protest. Naturally, the Billionaires for Bush made a welcome appearance.
